Safety, Collaboration, and Innovation
Superior Pak is committed to continuous improvement achieved through working with the waste collection industry operators to develop products that better meet their needs - with safety always being the first priority.
We understand that waste collection, as part of the overall waste management industry, is influenced by many other factors such as economics, the environment, town planning and community expectations. Contractors need to be able to adapt to remain viable and competitive.
Our willingness to work with the industry has seen the development of several ground-breaking products. We have lodged a number of patents to ensure that Superior-Pak customers continue to enjoy the competitive advantages of using our unique technologies.
It is our objective to be known in the industry as the most cooperative and innovative manufacturer of waste compaction bodies in Australia.

The All-New EV Raptor Side Loader – Tackling Rubbish With Zero Emissions
Superior Pak is leading the way in creating the new generation of waste-collection vehicles with a fully electric version of the Raptor Side Loader.
The EV Raptor Side Loader has been developed in collaboration with SEA Electric and is a genuine ‘zero emissions’ alternative for companies wanting to reduce their carbon footprint, reduce noise levels, and promote ‘green’ values.
Superior Pak is proud to have exclusive rights to the SEA Electric drive for the waste industry.

Pedestrian Detection System for Front Loader Applications
Front loader operations are designed for lifting of large industrial bins which often takes place in areas such as shopping centres and industrial parks. The inherent danger being a person entering the operation zone while the bin is in the air and being injured during the lowering phase.
Superior Pak has developed a patented control system (Patent 2016100580) that uses two high-tech sensors in two detection zones to identify a possible pedestrian hazard during the bin lift operation.
When a hazard is detected an alarm will sound and the operation will be stopped. The operation can only be recommenced once the driver acknowledges the alarm and checks that the zone is clear.
All alarm events and acknowledgements are logged and recorded within the on-board control to assist with monitoring and reporting.
Pedestrian Detection System for Side Loader Applications
Side loader operations are primarily used for domestic bin collection. This operation, which takes place alongside footpaths, comes with a high risk of pedestrians entering the operation zone while the bin is being emptied and being injured during the lowering phase.
To address this risk, Superior Pak has developed a detection system utilising a small, high-performance radar sensor originally designed for use in heavy-duty applications such as construction and mining.
Chosen for its ability to detect multiple stationary and moving objects of various characteristics simultaneously, the rugged sensor is also fully-sealed (to meet IP69K standards) and is able to withstand shocks, vibrations and the severest of weather conditions. The detection system covers a zone 1000mm wide x 2000mm deep.
When a hazard is detected during the bin lifting operation (after the bin has reached a height of 1400mm), an alarm will sound, and the operation will be stopped. The driver must acknowledge the alarm and confirm that the area is clear before the operation can be completed.
All alarm events and acknowledgements are logged and recorded within the on-board control to assist with monitoring and reporting.
